So it turns out that rewriting is harder than writing something the first time. Editing happens to be even harder. In short, I’ve been working at Symbol of Hope, gotten stuck on some bits, but overall, things have been going alright.... well, maybe I shouldn’t outright lie like that. It’s not good for my reputation. I AM still working on things, and in the meantime, I give you the deleted first chapter of Symbol of Hope. Keep in mind, this is a draft. It has not been edited. There are cusswords in it still. Some of the things in this chapter have been retained in the next draft, some have not. ALSO – GO SEE DISTRICT 9! |

I suppose I should occasionally get back into posting news items on here. It would certainly help give me content to post on Mondays instead of just not posting when I fail to write a chapter of Ghost Talent or fix up something else. Speaking of which, some of you might have noticed that I did not post an update last week, and this week’s is late. If you’ve been following my LJ, you probably would know something of the answer already, but I’ll go ahead and post it here too. After all, not everyone is hardcore like that. Last week’s skip was due to the fact that I had an interview on Monday and I was working on preparing for that most of the weekend when I usually would have been writing. The week following that interview, I had several obligations that had to be attended to. Mostly housecleaning and socializing with people I haven’t seen in a while. Given the solitary nature of writing, I have a tendency to make myself get up and go do something social even when I don’t want to. It keeps me from turning into a wrinkled white prune and an emotional wreck. However, I have been working. Mostly on Symbol of Hope, Book 2 of the Natan Fleet Show series. I have decided to rewrite it from the beginning, which has resulted in the removal of one of my Darlings. I will totally have to post the first few chapters of the original version on here – for amusement’s sake, simply because I find NPRP too funny to not share in some form or fashion. AN: YAY! on time! Also, if you missed a chapter, hop over into the Episodes section. They're all listed there, along with some other interesting stuff. In fact, feel free to explore the site. I've got artwork, alien write-ups, and some stuff on the ships - not much tho. I need to fill that section out further. ** CHAPTER 8 “Thanks for a terrible time,” she’d told him on her way out. She’d punched him in the face. Rathios figured she probably shouldn’t have, due to the fact that she was trying to get pregnant. She would have to go back to him again in a week or two. Probably two. She needed to keep track of her mates in order to determine the father of her child. “Wish I’d picked someone else,” she grumbled under her breath as she walked purposefully back towards her quarters. It was fairly late and she needed sleep in order to be on time for her shift. But that also meant that she would be returning to a place that was no longer hers. |
